Rest like royalty in velvet armchairs. Nestled into the corner of the living room, accompanied by a matching footstool or ottoman, these seats create the coziest of reading nooks. Pair with a floor lamp and a side table for books, coasters and snacks. Tip: modernize the look of a chair with a classic frame by pairing it with a modern accent table. A velvet armchair next to the entryway console works, too, accentuating the luxe look of the overhead chandelier. While a room of all velvet furniture certainly works, it isn’t necessary for cohesion. The soft, dense pile creates a comfortable textural contradiction with a buttery leather sofa or casual linen sectional.
