Lumbar pillows, so-named in reference to the lumbar region of the lower back, were designed to offer back support on sofas, desk chairs and even car seats. Now, they’re just as at home on the arm of the living room sofa or along the back cushion of a loveseat or wide armchair as a plush, decorative accent. Does your bed need an extra touch? Position a lumbar pillow in an extra-luxurious material such as Icelandic sheepskin, 100% natural leather or on-trend velvet. For outdoor patio furniture, look for cushions with standout hues and patterns—fresh, colorful geometric prints brighten a neutral outdoor sofa. Toss a couple onto poolside lounge chairs to add just a little more style and a lot more comfort.
